V2

Shipbuilding, Repairs and Recycling

Yard modernisation, ship repair and refit capacity, and green recycling across the full vessel lifecycle.

Why This Matters

Shipbuilding & Recycling

India is now the world's leading ship recycling nation - UNCTAD put its share of global tonnage at 35.4% in 2025, meeting the Maritime India Vision 2030 target five years early - but it still builds and repairs very little of its own fleet, so the value in a vessel's life leaves the country twice. Building, repairing and recycling are one asset lifecycle; treating them as one vertical is what turns a breaking yard into a materials, remanufacturing and shipbuilding industry.
